In response to the recent claims made by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar about a ‘black magic’ ritual being conducted against him and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah near the Rajarajeshwari temple, the trustee of the temple in Kerala has denied the allegations. The trustee, Madhavan, stated that there is no such puja taking place at the Rajarajeshwari temple. He emphasized that they would be aware of any such activity, but upon checking, they found no evidence to support Shivakumar’s claims.
Shivakumar had mentioned that a yagya (special worship) was being conducted by ‘aghoris’ at a location near the temple, specifically targeting him, the Chief Minister, and the Congress government. He alleged that animals like red goats, buffaloes, black sheep, and pigs were being sacrificed for black magic. However, the trustee clarified that no such activity involving the sacrifice of animals was taking place near the temple.
Expressing disappointment over the minister’s remarks, the trustee voiced dissent in involving the temple in political matters. He stressed that only Brahmin puja takes place at the temple and refuted any claims of black magic rituals. When asked about the involvement of BJP or JD-S leaders in the alleged ritual, Shivakumar maintained that politicians from Karnataka were responsible.
Despite the accusations and attempts to harm him, Shivakumar mentioned that he relies on a higher power for protection and begins his day with a prayer. The trustee reiterated that no ritual involving animal sacrifice occurs at the temple and urged for respect for their religious practices. The trustee’s response sheds light on the controversies surrounding the alleged black magic ritual and emphasizes the importance of maintaining the sanctity of religious institutions.
