The University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) 2024 June session exam has been rescheduled by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to be held between August 21 and September 4. The UGC NET June 2024 cycle exam, which was originally conducted in a pen and paper (offline) mode, will now be transitioning to a computer-based test.
The NTA has also announced the dates for the Joint CSIR UGC NET and NCET 2024 exams. The Joint CSIR UGC NET is scheduled from July 25 to 27, while the NCET 2024 exam will take place on July 10.
The All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) 2024 is set to be conducted on July 6 as planned. The UGC NET June 2024 exam, initially held on June 18 in two shifts, was cancelled on June 19 due to alleged paper leaks.
Following an investigation by the CBI, it was revealed that the exam paper was leaked on June 16, just two days before the scheduled exam. The Ministry of Education took responsibility for the cancellation after concerns of compromised integrity and the alleged leak on the darknet.
The cancellation also impacted the CSIR UGC NET exam, which was supposed to take place from June 25 to 27 but was postponed as a precautionary measure. The UGC NET exam is conducted biannually in June and December to determine eligibility for assistant professor roles, grant Junior Research Fellowship, and enrollment in PhD programs at Indian universities.
