As the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) prepares to conduct the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2024 on June 16, candidates across the country are gearing up for the rigorous test. The exam, originally scheduled for May 26, was postponed to June 16 due to the Lok Sabha elections.

The Civil Services Exam is a prestigious examination that is conducted annually in three stages- preliminary, main, and interview- to select officers for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other services. With several lakhs of candidates expected to appear for the examination, various state transport departments have made arrangements for their smooth travel, including special metro and train services in cities like Delhi and Kolkata.

Candidates are reminded to arrive at the examination centres well before the scheduled time, and to follow the strict guidelines provided by the UPSC. It is essential to use a black ballpoint pen to fill in the answer key, and prohibited items such as bags, mobile phones, cameras, electronic watches, and Bluetooth/IT devices will not be allowed in the examination halls and centres.

Additionally, candidates must have their e-Admit Card and photo ID card to enter the examination venue. Any discrepancies in the e-Admit Card should be reported to the commission immediately. It’s important to adhere to all instructions provided by the UPSC to ensure a smooth and successful examination experience.

The UPSC CSE Mains 2024 exams are scheduled to be held for five days starting September 20. As candidates prepare to tackle the preliminary examination, it is crucial to stay focused, calm, and confident in their abilities. As the nation awaits the results of this highly anticipated exam, candidates are encouraged to give their best and showcase their knowledge and skills in the field of civil services.
