In the latest technology news from India, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new update that will allow Meta AI to reply to photos sent by users and edit them. The feature was spotted by WABetainfo in the WhatsApp Beta version 2.24.14.20, indicating that it may soon be incorporated into the stable build.
The new feature will introduce a chat button within WhatsApp, enabling users to share their pictures directly with Meta AI. Once the images are sent to Meta AI, users will have the option to ask the chatbot to identify specific objects in the images or provide context. Additionally, users can request Meta AI to make changes to the image through a text prompt.
Furthermore, WhatsApp is expected to give users complete control over their pictures, allowing them to delete the images at any time. An earlier report by WABetainfo had also hinted at another feature in development, where users could receive AI-generated images of themselves by sharing their photos with Meta AI.
The AI generator within Meta AI will prompt users to send a single set of photos for analysis, ensuring that the generated images accurately reflect the users’ appearance. Users will also have the option to delete their setup images at any time through Meta AI settings. To activate this feature, users can enter ‘Imagine me’ in the Meta AI conversation or type ‘@Meta AI imagine me’ in other chats.
It is important to note that Meta AI will not be able to read other messages in the conversation, and the resulting images will be processed automatically, maintaining user privacy. However, the new feature is expected to be optional, requiring users to opt in before utilizing it. This development highlights WhatsApp’s efforts to enhance user experience through AI-driven features, providing users with more interactive and personalized options to engage with their images.
