According to reports by WABetaInfo, this upcoming feature will allow users to transcribe their voice messages directly within the app, making it easier to read and understand messages that were initially in audio form.
The new voice message transcription feature is currently in development and is expected to be available for both iOS and Android users. The transcription process will be powered by advanced speech recognition technology, which will operate locally on the user’s device, ensuring end-to-end encryption is maintained for user privacy and security.
To activate this feature, users will need to download an additional 150MB of app data. Once the data is downloaded, users can transcribe their voice messages, providing a convenient alternative to listening to voice recordings in situations where playing audio messages is not feasible.
One of the key highlights of this upcoming feature is the availability of multiple language options for transcription. Users will be able to select their preferred language from a choice of five options: Hindi, English, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. After choosing a language, users will be prompted to download a language-specific data package to facilitate the transcription process, ensuring accurate and efficient transcriptions.
