White House Pushes Back Amidst Concerns over President Biden’s Health

Amidst concerns over President Joe Biden’s health, the White House is pushing back against speculations and rumors. White House physician Kevin O’Connor addressed the issue, stating that Parkinson’s specialist Dr. Kevin Cannard visited the White House multiple times last year mainly to treat staff members and active-duty military personnel. It was clarified that President Biden’s interaction with Dr. Cannard was limited to his routine annual physical examinations. O’Connor emphasized that the results of Biden’s check-ups have always been made public, and the president has not seen a neurologist outside of his annual medical check-up.
The statement released by the White House mentioned that Dr. Cannard has been the Neurology Consultant to the White House Medical Unit since 2012. He has been conducting regular Neurology Clinics for active-duty members assigned to support White House operations. The focus of Dr. Cannard’s visits has been on addressing neurological issues experienced by individuals stemming from their military service.
Despite the White House’s clarification, questions surrounding President Biden’s health have continued to surface. These concerns were further fueled by his recent debate performance and subsequent statements. The president’s health has been a contentious topic, with calls for him to drop out of the presidential race. However, both Biden and his medical team have maintained that he is fit for duty without any exceptions or accommodations.
The White House has emphasized that President Biden’s overall annual physical check-up includes consultations with various specialists, including neurologists. Any visits or consultations are part of standard healthcare procedures and not indicative of any undisclosed health issues. As the scrutiny over Biden’s health persists, the administration remains steadfast in affirming the president’s ability to carry out his duties effectively and without impairment.
