A 37-year-old woman was critically injured after being attacked by three wolves at the Thoiry zoo and safari park near Paris, France. The incident took place when the victim strayed into the car-only safari zone that is restricted to vehicles only. The attack resulted in severe bites to her neck, back, and leg, leaving her in a critical condition. Thoiry, located approximately 40 kilometers west of Paris, is a popular wildlife park in France where around 800 animals roam free in the park. Visitors can observe them from the safety of their vehicles. The woman, who was staying at a lodge within the park with her family, ventured out alone for a jog when the incident occurred. It is unclear how she managed to enter the restricted area meant only for cars, leading to the unfortunate encounter with the wolves. Park authorities have not yet provided a statement regarding the incident. The victim was rescued by park attendants who heard her screams and rushed her to a nearby hospital for treatment. An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances that led to the attack. Founded in 1968, the Thoiry zoo spans 150 hectares and houses approximately 1,500 animals from different species. The park offers unique safari-style lodges in the wolf zone area, providing visitors with an intimate experience with arctic wolves. The incident sheds light on the need for enhanced safety measures to prevent such incidents and ensure the well-being of both visitors and wildlife at the park.
