Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been granted interim bail by the Supreme Court in a money laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam. This decision comes after Kejriwal challenged his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the corruption case. The Supreme Court, comprising of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta, noted that certain legal questions arising out of his plea need to be referred to a larger bench, hence Kejriwal will remain in Tihar jail due to a separate arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation in a corruption case.
The Supreme Court highlighted the importance of Kejriwal as an elected leader and Chief Minister of Delhi, emphasizing that it is up to him to decide if he wants to continue in his current position.
