Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited China to meet with President Xi Jinping and signed 21 agreements, MoUs, and announced further projects to enhance their strategic cooperative ties. During their meeting, both countries agreed to elevate their partnership to a comprehensive strategic cooperative alliance. The agreements include economic assistance from China in the form of grants, interest-free loans, concessional loans, and commercial loans to support Bangladesh\u2019s development initiatives. Various sectors such as the economic and banking industry, trade and investment, digital economy, infrastructure development, disaster management, and people-to-people connectivity were highlighted in the signed agreements.
The bilateral talks between Sheikh Hasina and President Xi emphasized important issues such as the Rohingya crisis, business, trade, investments, and regional and international matters. The leaders also discussed the construction of friendship bridges, export of agricultural products, and ways to boost trade and commerce between the two countries. Bangladesh\’s State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud praised the successful discussions held between the leaders, emphasizing the positive outcomes of the meeting.
